He received his education in dentistry in his hometown of Ferozepur, Punjab, and travelled to South India to pursue a Masters's in Hospital Administration from Manipal. Dr. Sandhu worked as a quality care manager for 2 years in a hospital focusing on safe practices and developing systems to improve the quality of care before deciding to move to Canada in 2016.
He graduated from Dalhousie University with a DDS degree in 2020 and then pursued a General Practice Residency (GPR) from Mt. Sinai Hospital in Toronto, which is affiliated with the University of Toronto. He had an opportunity to treat medically complex patients in a hospital setting that included rotations at Princess Margaret Hospital where he worked primarily with cancer patients and rotations at the Toronto Rehabilitation Institute where he tended to special needs patients requiring long-term care.
