Children's Dental Services
Regular dental care early in life is essential for establishing strong oral hygiene habits that will last a lifetime. At SouthWest Dental in Yarmouth, our general dentist who focuses on treating children offers a range of services that can be tailored to meet your child's specific oral health needs.
Positive Dental Experiences
At SouthWest Dental, our team is committed to helping children feel at ease during their dental appointments so they can maintain good oral health today and into adulthood.
We offer a complete range of dental services for kids and their developing smiles, and are dedicated to providing your child with the most positive dental experience possible each and every time they visit our office.
Our dentists and hygienists will talk to your child about their dental health in language they understand and answer any questions your child may have. We will explain what we are doing and why, and will go at a pace your child is comfortable with, taking breaks if they become overwhelmed.
Your Child's First Visit
Infants should be seen by a dentist within six months of their first tooth erupting, or by their first birthday. At this stage in your child's dental development, the primary teeth are beginning to erupt and it is a critical time for your dentist to spot problems that can be treated before they become more serious concerns.
Dental Services for Kids
At SouthWest Dental, our services can be tailored to meet your child's oral health needs, and keep their smile healthy.
Preventive Dental Hygiene
Visiting the dentist for regular exams and cleanings when your child is young will help preserve the primary teeth until they are ready to fall out and be replaced by the permanent teeth. During each appointment, we will review proper oral hygiene techniques to ensure your child has the tools they need to care for their smile properly.
Restorative Dental Services
If your child is at risk of decay, develops a cavity, or is experiencing misalignment issues, your dentist may also recommend treatments and appliances such as dental fillings, orthodontics or sports mouth guards.
