The Atlantic Complete Dentistry Club ("AcDc Study Club") was formed in 2009 and is a member-participation, hands‑on study club where members are encouraged to bring cases for group presentation and discussion. Attendance is limited to 25 participants to ensure a high-quality learning experience and is intended for General Dentists, Lab Technicians and Specialists. Priority will be given to past AcDc Study Club members, people with Dawson, Pankey, Piper, Kois, Spear, Theriault, and Specialist (or similar) training.
The AcDc Study Club is mentored by Dr. Jim McKee of Chicago, Illinois. Jim’s experience developing and mentoring study clubs is invaluable. Jim has a proven track-record of excellent lecturing and an ability to simplify complex cases. Dr. Michel Comeau will also act as Jim’s assistant mentor. There will be 6 meetings per year. Each session will be a full day, to be held on Fridays. Dr. Jim McKee will be present for 3 of these meetings. Sessions will include:
· leadership and team development;
· specialty presentations;
· hands-on techniques;
· materials & technology demonstrations;
· member case presentations;
· treatment planning; and
· literature reviews.
A significant focus of this club will be on advanced treatment planning and interdisciplinary treatment. Specialist and Lab Technician involvement will be emphasized. Other topics to be discussed and reviewed will include: new patient examinations and records; digital photography and case presentations; advanced restorative and esthetic concepts; occlusal/TMJ diagnosis and management; leadership and team development; and practice management.
